To paint a picture with a pen

Is harder than it seems;

Not only brushes can extend

A vision to your dreams.

A story told, a painting writ,

Comes only from the heart,

And solely for the sake of it,

The talent is an art.

The soul is understood with ink

As well as paint, you see,

As it takes mind and heart to think

Upon life’s tossing sea.

The pen is greater than the sword,

But weapon must depend

Upon the wielder’s worth and word

Where strength and power end.
